iPhone Complaints

Filed Under Apple | 9 Comments

Since the release of the iPhone just over a week ago there have been loads of talk going on throughout the cell phone industry.  It has been one of the hottest topics to discuss and has had consumers going nuts.  In a previous post on this website I provided a summary of many user reviews that I have read, titled iPhone User Reviews.  This post discussed the initial reactions of those that had purchased a new iPhone and there were a lot of people that purchased one.  The last I heard Apple sold over 500,000 in the first weekend there were available for sale.  I feel that most users absolutely love the iPhone and its amazing capabilities and you can see why if you read the article.  However, there have been complaints about the iPhone from users.  I have decided to compile a list of the current complaints out there and attempt to provide you with some possible solutions to the different complaints.  So in essence I am going to do all the research for you and provide you with the solutions to the iPhone ComplaintsSome of the issues I will be covering will be the battery life, slow Internet speed, activation problems, touch screen durability, and application issues.  This list will be updated with the solutions shortly and new issues will be added as they arise.  If you have any questions or issues you would like me to find the solution to or offer any help for please let me know.

Finding The Right BlackBerry Pearl Case

Posted on July 4, 2007
Filed Under Accessories | Leave a Comment

Are you looking for a BlackBerry Pearl Case for your new phone?  If you are we would like to help.  It can be difficult to decide what type of case is going to be best fit for you based on your needs.  Everyone’s needs are going to be different, but that’s OK because there is all kinds of different cases to fit those needs.  We will be providing a list of cases for the BlackBerry Pearl with a short review of each along with some good place’s to find them to purchase.  Updates to the list will be made when we find new cases that we feel will be beneficial to our readers.

 Blackberry Pearl Crystal Hard Case

Blackberry Pearl Crystal Hard Case

This is a great case for your phone.  There are very inexpensive and they do a great job at protect it from getting damaged and scratched.  It most likely won’t handle to many drops before breaking but none the less will word great.  The case allows for full functionality of the phone without ever removing the case.  It comes in two pieces and snaps on to the phone and then locks in place.  The is a very good option for both business professionals and others that use this phone leisurely.  This particular crystal hard case does not come with a belt clip but other cases exactly like it do, so there is the option for that if you would prefer to have a belt clip.

Blackberry Pearl Rubberized Hard Case

Blackberry Pearl Rubberized Hard Case

Now this case is a little different that most people are use to.  It has a rubber shell that sits on the outside of a hard crystal inner shell.  It offers full functionality of the phone just like the crystal hard case without ever removing the case from the phone.  The biggest advantage to the rubberized hard case over the crystal hard case is the shock absorption when the phone is dropped.  This case helps to minimize damage to your phone because of the hard rubber outside shell.  This case would be great for the casual owner and also looks great enough to be used by business professional’s.  This particular case comes with a belt clip attachment on the back.  If you would prefer to have a case without that feature there are plenty of pearl cases out there that do not have the belt clip included.

 Blackberry Pearl Leather Flip Case

Blackberry Pearl Book Flip Leather Case

This leather flip case for the Blackberry Pearl is a very sleek and sophisticated case.  This is an excellent option for the business professional as well as for the casual owner you wants a great leather case.  It offers full functionality of the phone without ever having to remove the phone from the case.  It has a side front flap that can be used to cover the front of the phone when not be used to help prevent it from being damaged.  This is a very nice case that looks great on the phone, I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is interested in this type of case.

All these cases can be purchased at http://www.extremepda.com/, however these exact type of cases can be found from several different sellers.  A great place to look for cases such as these is on eBay.  Look for more cases to be added to the list in the future.

iPhone User Reviews

Posted on July 2, 2007
Filed Under Apple | Leave a Comment

There has been so much hype and anticipation for the release of the iPhone since Apple announced, and now its finally here.  There are so many user reviews out there already for this product and its only been 3 days since its release.  Overall it seems that most iPhone users love there new toy.  On the flip side there are a fair amount of reviews with complaints about the functionality of the device.  Most of these bugs should be worked out over the coming months by updates from Apple.  It does make sense that consumers would be highly critical of the iPhone considering the price tag ($499 for the 4GB model and $599 for the 8GB model) and the enormous consumer interest it has generated.  Apple had received over 1 million inquiries for information about the iPhone prior to its release.  There were lines of people waiting outside AT&T and Apple stores, for days in some cases, to ensure they would get one when it released on June 29.  Some of the user reviews found explain the release of this device and its huge and growing following perfectly.

 iPhone

Positive User Reviews of the iPhone

First off I do have to say that I have read a tonof users reviews for new products over the last few years and have never read some of the amazing things people are saying about the iPhone.  One review stated that it was the best consumer device that he has ever purchased in his 55 years of living.  Now that’s impressive if you ask me.  Another user explained how it was one of the greatest pieces of technology that he has ever purchased.

Users are impressed with the keyboard functionality, most said that they had some concern as to how it would work prior to purchasing the device but found the ease of use and adaptive dictionary to be more than they expected.

The Internet is another amazing feature the iPhone offers.  Users have had good things to say about the Internet.  Its kind of up in the air as the speed of the Internet, some say its fast and others say they wish it was faster.  Some users have said that they don’t mind if the networks a little slower because its just like using the Internet on your computer.

The touch screen was another area that added to the anticipation of the device.  I think a lot of people loved the look and design of the touch screen display while worrying about the functionality of the iPhone with no buttons.  Users have mostly good things to say about it, most of the negative reviews in this area I feel are due to the change from the familiarity of other smartphones.

The battery has had impressive reviews despite the concern over battery life prior to its release.  Users are saying that the battery does take a long time to charge but the battery life is great considering all the different functions the iPhone offers.  One user said the he used his new iPhone for almost a full day and the battery had not died yet.  Apple increased the battery life from 5 hours to 8 hours prior to its release.

Negative User Reviews of the iPhone

Now keeping in mind, as stated previously, that due to the enormous hype and steep price tag of this device that users would be very critical of it.  I think one user summed up the negative aspects perfectly.  He stated that although there are some areas of the iPhone that could obviosly be improved it is by far the best cell phone on the market and that people need to stop whining about it.

Probably the most common complaint from users is the lack of ability to add custom ringtones to the iPhone.  Some users stated that they were disappointed to not being able to use a song loaded onto the iPod section of the phone.  Others complained about the lack of functionality with Bluetooth devices for transferring songs to the device.  This will be an easy fix for Apple in a software update that should come sooner than later.

Youtube not functioning fully seems to be a common complaint among users.  This should be an easy fix for apple with a software update and users should not worry to much about any issues involved here.

Some users have complained about the Internet being slow, but the good as far as the Internet is concerned most definitely out-ways the bad.  The Internet looks awesome what can i say!

The last most common complaint from iPhone users is the weak vibrate function.  Now this might not be an issue apple can fix with a software update, we will have to wait and see.  If not its definitely not a big enough issue to sway consumers from purchasing this phone.

Simply put the iPhone is amazing.  I believe the user reviews explain it all.  If you have the money and want to have service with AT&T i would strongly suggest going out and purchasing one of these badboys.

If your currently in the market for a new Smartphone and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Apple iPhone, there are definatley some alternatives to consider.  Other manufacturer’s have been busy coming up with there own new Smartphones.  The video included above offers a review of the new Nokia N95 and the new BlackBerry Curve 8300 from RIM.  The Nokia N95 is by far the best camera phone currently on the market.  It boasts a 5.0 megapixel camera, 802.11g WiFi, integrated GPS, 2.6 inch QVGA screen, 150 MB of internal memory, and lots more.  It does have a $749(US) price tag and is only available through service providers AT&T and TMobile in the United States.  That price suddenly makes the iPhones price seem a lot cheaper.     The BlackBerry Curve 8300 is the latest model to come out on the market from RIM.  It is an upgraded version of the BlackBerry Pearl.  This SmartPhone does have a full QWERTY keypad unlike the Pearl.  It also has a 2.0 megapixel camera, media support, Bluetooth capabilities, microSD expansion slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.  The Curve has a retail price of $449(US) and is only available from AT&T Wireless.  Although you can currently get the Curve for $199(US), after rebates, if you sign up for a 2 year contract.   Watch the video above for a hands on review of both products.

Apple’s iPhone To Have Impressive 8 Hours Of Talk Time

Posted on June 18, 2007
Filed Under Apple | Leave a Comment

Apple announced today that the battery to be included with each new iPhone will have an astounding 8 hours of talk time. This is great news for those waiting anxiously to get there hands on one of theses when they are released for sale on June 29. The previous battery life Apple estimated back in January, when the phone was unveiled to the public, was  approximately 5 hours. Here are some stats on the iPhone’s battery life:iphone-battery-life-chart.jpg

It boasts 250 hours of standby time, that is up to ten days without having to charge your phone.  In addition the new battery allowas for 6 hours of internet use, 7 hours of video playback, and 24 hour of audio playback.  Can you imagine 24 hours of listening to music without plugging in for a fresh charge.  That is roughly 4 times the charge of a 30 GB iPod.

They also annouced an upgrade to the phone’s screen from plastic to optical-quality glass.  This shall by a very impressive improvement to other smartphones in the market.  The iPhone is set to debut with a price of $499 (US) for the 4 GB model and $599 (US) for the 8 GB model.  This phone will be provided exclusively by AT&T Wireless.  Here is a quick comparison to some other new smartphones currently on the market:
