Want To Know What Unlocked Cellphones Are?

If you have heard the term unlocked cellphone before and are wondering what exactly that means, then you have come to the right place. Unlocked cellphones are phones that are free from being used on one carrier on their network. What does this mean you might ask? Well basically if a phone has been unlocked it allows the phone to be used on any network that uses a Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) Card. The SIM card is a device that is provided to a customer by the service provider and is what allows the phone, the card is installed in, to function on their network. When you have a locked phone it will only recognize the SIM card from the carrier the card came from. With an unlocked cellphone it will recognize the SIM card from any carrier that uses a GSM network.
Advantages of an Unlocked Cellphone
There are some very good reasons why people prefer to have a cell phone that is not proprietary to a certain carrier. It allows an individual to buy a phone that they like that their service provider does not offer and use it on their current phone plan. The service providers feel that they must keep the phones they sale proprietary to their network because of the low cost of buying a phone when signing up for calling plan. Without keeping the phones proprietary the carriers feel they will lose money. This is not necessarily in the best interest of their customers as they don’t offer all the phones available on the market. The second advantage is that it allows a customer to be free of a service contract. They can purchase an unlocked phone and never have to resign a 1 or 2 year contract again. The third advantage is that you can often times purchase phones that are not even available in the United States and you would be able to use it with your current calling plan as long as the phones band is supported by your carriers network.
Disadvantages of an Unlocked Cellphone
There are some disadvantages to purchasing this type of phone. The first being that they tend to be fairly costly. In most cases you do end up paying almost the full price for the phone if you purchase one brand new, unlocked and ready to go. If you don’t purchase one brand new there are two other options. One being to ask your carrier to unlock your phone. They might do this for a service fee, but this does not always mean your phone will have full functionality afterwords. Some features of your cell phone make not work. The second being to hack your phone. There are many websites on the Internet that offer instructions on how to hack a mobile phone. This tends to be a very risky option because if you don’t know what your doing you can fairly easily cause your phone to not operate any longer. If you can get it to work properly this can be the cheapest option you have available to you. The highest risk offers this highest reward in this situation.
In the United States the only networks that operate on the GSM network are AT&T(formerly Cingular) and T-Mobile. If you use either of these networks as your service provider then you have the option for an unlocked mobilephone.
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave a comment and I will respond back. Here are some great options for buying unlocked cellphones.
Where To Find Unlocked Cellphones

Have you ever wondered where you can buy unlocked cellphones? Well I have researched some of the top places that sale unlocked cellphones and I will be providing information for them to help you decide which site to choose when making your decision. The websites I have found have these types of cellphones as their specialty. Some of the things I looked for when searching for places to buy unlocked phones was the security, safety, and reliability of each site. No one wants to make a purchase from a site that is fraudulent and just wants to take your money and never deliver the product. Another important feature that I was looking for was the popularity of the website and the amount of traffic each one gets. These are important factors because sites that are honest and trustworthy will grow in popularity and traffic. Sites that are fraudulent will have a harder time growing in size over a long period of time because they can only rip so many people off before someone actually does something about it. I am going to list these sites in order value to you as a customer. This takes into account all the factors I listed above.
The Best Overall Site Goes To CellHut
CellHut.com in my opinion is an excellent website. They have a great selection of unlocked cellphones with competitive prices. According to Alexa websites ranking they have the best rankings of all the websites I will be providing here. There site is secure which will help with the prevention of hackers stealing your financial information when making your purchase. They have a fraud prevention page on their site explaining the steps they take to help prevent fraud and tips to customers to avoid being scammed by other site. I recommend checking it out, there are helpful tips here.
Second In-line Goes To PureMobile
PureMobile.com is an eye pleasing website to look at. It is simple and clean and they provide the known sources verifying that they are a legitimate website. They also use scan alert which is a well known company that scans websites on a daily basis and certifies that they are hacker safe. Websites that show their site has been tested daily definitely want to protect their customers financial information and security. This website also has an excellent selection of unlocked cellphones which great prices. This site was very close to coming in 1st but they do not get as much traffic as CellHut does. I am sure it is only a matter of time before they catch up.
Third Place Goes To Cellular-Blowout
This is another good source when deciding to make a purchase for an unlocked cellphone. They offer and excellent selection of phones and do provide some good information to inform their customers of what an unlocked phone is and the differences from a locked cell phone. The main reason why I rated this website in third place was because I did not find much information in regards to protection customers from fraud. The only thing I found on the site was the Yahoo 128 encryption for secure checkout. This is definitely a good thing but I do believe the first two sites are a little more proactive in preventing fraud. There prices are very competitive and it appears they do have great customer service. This is most definitely a site worthy of checking out if you are considering making a purchase.
Ultimately it is up to you as a customer to decide which site you want to make your purchase with but I do recommend all three of these sites. I would feel completely confident in making a purchase from any of them. There are a couple of sources that I do feel are worth of mention. The first being 1800mobiles.com , they do offer phones that have been unlocked but this is not their primary focus on their website. I mention it because it is worth checking out. The second site to mention if eBay. EBay is a great source for almost anything you can think of and is a great source for these types of phones. The most important thing to keep in mind when purchasing on eBay is to research the seller. Read the feedback that has been left by other buyers, especially read their negative feedback. You will probably find the most competitive prices on eBay but you also might be taking the most risk if you don’t do you homework on the seller. Please keep in mind though that if you pay with PayPal you do have some built in protection if you never receive the item you paid for.
Please feel free to leave a comment if you have a question or if you have had any experience buying from any of the sites I have mentioned.
Are Websites That Offer To Trace Cell Phone Numbers Free Legit?

I have spent a fair amount of time researching websites that offer to trace cell phone numbers free of charge. I have come to the conclusion that these websites are not legit and I would question their motive for doing so. I tested about 10 websites with several cell phone numbers that I use on a regular basis and not one of them came back with the correct result. There can sometimes be a valid purpose for wanting to conduct a cell phone number trace, such as wanting to find out who called you from a number you did not recognize. I think it is safe to say that most of the time the people searching for this type of information are not wanting it for a good purpose. Of the 10 websites I tested there was only a couple that provided any relevant information free of charge. The information provided on these websites only provided information pertaining to the network the phone number originated from. They did not provide the personal information simply but entering the phone number in, they required you to purchase this information. I do know that you can buy this information from these sites and most of them will provide it to you. In my opinion this information should remain private an confidential. I do not believe others should have the ability or right to obtain this information for a fee. If you are looking for this kind of service that will allow you to trace cell phone numbers free then I wish good-luck to you. For those of you that feel this information should remain private and companies should not be allowed to charge a fee to grant access to anyone that wants, then we should help to do our part to prevent it.

Apple iPhone Has Been Hacked

It has been reported that the iPhone has been hacked by a 17 year old kid from New Jersey. This, in my opinion, is an amazing accomplishment when you think about the lengths Apple went to in order to block the iPhone from being used an any other network. The 17 year old, George Hotz’s, claims he did this by using a combination of a soldering gun and software. It apparently took him over 500 hours to crack the iPhone and he was working on it with a group of other hackers. He has posted a video on YouTube with proof of his claim showing a working iPhone running on the T-Mobile network and has also posted a how to guide on his website http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com. It is unclear if this will be bad news for AT&T as far as business is concerned, it has been reported that both AT&T and Apple were contacted but would not comment on the hacked iPhone. For those of you out there that do not have AT&T and want an iPhone the doors have now opened for you. Although beware as the word on the street is this is not an easy feat to duplicate. George states on his website its not an easy task. If your interested in reading more about this I suggest checking out his site.
Create Personalized Content – Upload Your Music, Photos, and Videos To Your Mobile Phone

If you have a cell phone that is capable of accessing the mobile Internet and you want to create personalized content for your phone, then i have a website you should definitely check out. If you have not heard of Jamobii then you have been missing out. This website allows you to upload your own music, photos, and videos to their servers and then you will be able to download your personalized ringtones, wallpapers, images, and videos via a dedicated WAP site. If you are not sure what WAP is well it a site you can go to via your cell phone that will allow you to login and download the content you have uploaded via the Internet on your computer. The nice thing about this is that you can do all this without ever connecting your phone to your computer. No need for USB cables, Bluetooth dongles to transfer content, or downloading software. Not having to use these types of things it eliminates the difficulty of doing this yourself. This site is completely free by the way, and the owner plans to keep it that way. He does however offer an express queue for people that wish to make a donation to help he keep running the site. The express queue guarantees you zero wait time when uploading your personal content. If you choose to just use the free version they can sometimes be a small wait time, but this is no big deal considering it is a free service. Go ahead and check out the Jamobii Main Page and create ringtones, wallpapers, and videos with your own personal content. I believe this site is beneficial to those that love to personal there cell phones, that is why i wrote this sponsored review.

If your service provider is Verizon Wireless and you are interested in sending a Verizon text message, you have three different options available to you. If you do not know how to text message or do know how but are looking for some alternatives for doing so then this article is for you. The most obvious and by far the most common form of Verizon text messaging is from one cell phone to another cell phone. A text message is a note or message that is typed, usually on a mobile phone, and then is sent electronically to another mobile phone, email, or computer. It has become a very popular form of communicating to friends, family, and colleagues due to the ease of use, efficiency, and convenience. I think it is great that there is an option available to communicate with others without having to talk on the phone or drop what you are doing. Now if you want to know your three options for sending a Verizon Text Message here they are:
1. Mobile Phone to Mobile Phone
This is the most common form of text messaging and is the most convenient if you are away from home. This is done by typing in a messaging using the keypad on your cell phone and then sending it to the phone number of your choosing or saved contact in your phone.
2. Send A Text From your PC, Personal Computer
This is a extremely viable option if you are at home and don’t want to use your cell phone. This can actually be a faster option that typing into the keypad on your phone, unless you are a “mad texter” and can type 100 WPM on your mobile phone. This is done through Verizon by going to www.vtext.com and typing in the number your wish to send your text to and then entering in your message, after you do this you can enter in your return contact number and then hit send. There you go you have just sent you first text message from your computer. If you register at www.vtext.com you will given a lot more cool features and options that you can use with this service.
3. Email Text To Cell Phone
The last option is to send a text message from your personal or business email account. I think it is very safe to say most people do not know that it is possible to do this so I am here to tell you that it is. It is actually very easy to, it is very similar to sending an email except that the info you put in the to address box is going to be the cell phone number of the person you are sending the text to, followed by @vtext.com. This will only work if you are sending your message to a Verizon Wireless customer. If you are attempting to email text messages to someone on another service provider the @ part will be different and you will need to find out what that is for the message to send properly.
Well there you have it 3 different ways to send a Verizon text message. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me using the contact form above or by leaving a comment on the website.

If you are looking for cheap cell phone accessories there is only one place to go, at least in my opinion. I feel that eBay is the best option out there is you are looking for cheap mobile phone accessories. EBay has a huge selection of accessories for almost every phone model you can think of. They have all sorts of different cases including leather hard cases, leather pouches, soft leather cases, crystal hard cases, rubber silicon cases, and more. There are also skins available for many different models including the Motorola RAZR. If you do not know what skins are check out this article Motorola RAZR Skins. If you are in need of a car charger or home charger you can find these for next to nothing. I have seen them selling for $5.00 to $6.00 including shipping, now that’s some cheap accessories. You can also find USB data cables, Memory cards, wireless Bluetooth headsets, screen protectors, dongles, USB adapters, faceplates, and unlocking kits. This list really goes on and on, but the point is that if you need i can almost guarantee with 95% confidence you can find it on eBay for a cheap price. I strongly recommend checking it out you won’t be disappointed. If you have any questions about eBay or how it works please feel free to contact me with your questions.
Aliph’s Jawbone Bluetooth Headset

The Jawbone Bluetooth headset is innovation at its finest. Its sleek design and superior quality give it a leg up on the competition. If you know much about Bluetooth headsets or have one, then you are well aware of the background noise issue that most all headsets suffer from. That’s what makes this device so great, it has been designed to help drastically reduce this issue. Aside from its razor sharp look, this Bluetooth Headsets noise cancellation feature is Aliph’s signature design. The outside shield of this device curves with your face and the inside is made of a medical grade plastic which is very soft against your skin. The earpeice can be worn on either ear and although some say the device is big I personally think it is a lot less bulky and less intrusive than the competition that is currently on the market. CNET has given the Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth Headset its highest rating ever for these types of devices. Other websites also have rave reviews, Engadget.com stated “Whereable product of the year” and netintrigues.com stated “Kill noise with Jawbone”. I do beleive this device currently stands on a platform of its own and has raised the bar for the competition to get back in the game. There are some sleek features this device offers that i found to be excellent. The talk button is on the ouside shield of the device and it blends in with the design so others will never know it’s there. It aslo has a voice activity sensor on the inside and comes with a selection of ear loops and earbuds so you can pick one to fit your needs. It currently comes in three different colors black, red, and gray.
I highly recommend this device to anyone considering going with Bluetooth. The price is a little high at $120 but based on reviews I had read on other similiar products it is well worth the money.
