If you are an amateur photographer and are in the market for a new camera then you need to have a look at this new camera from Sony that has been recently announced.  It is the Sony Alpha DSLR-A700K camera and it comes with a sweet 12.24 megapixels and super steadyshot image stabilization.  One of the best camera stores around is RitzCamera and they have just started accepting pre-orders for this camera.  It has a purchase price of $1399.99 and this is for the body only.  If you are interested I recommend checking it out.

RitzCamera also has a great selection of digital picture frames that are a must have these days if you are into photography.  What better way to display your awesome digital photos you take with your new Sony camera.

Mobile Directions Verizon VZ Navigator

Posted on September 19, 2007
Filed Under Verizon Wireless, VZ Navigator | Leave a Comment

Verizon VZ Navigator provides a new and interesting way of getting mobile directions while driving.  Verizon Wireless has come out with a new service called VZ Navigator.  It works much the same as normal GPS system that you can buy for your car. This service however works directly from your mobile phone and does not require the purchase of any additional equipment.  The bad part about this service is that it is not free of charge, you will have to pay a monthly subscription fee to use it.  It will also use up your minutes when it is in use, so you might not want to use it constantly or you might go well over your monthly allotted minutes.

Verizon VZ Navigator has a ton of really cool features such as storing places that you go often or looking up where you are going on a map.  It is a fairly easy service to use once you have done it a few times but it might be a little tricky to figure out if you are not familiar with it.  The service will provide you with voice direction so it will say where you need to turn and what direction to travel.  If you take a wrong path it will figure out a new route for you and keep you going on your way, so don’t worry if you get lost the first few times using it.

You can find a really cool demo that walks you through how to use Verizon VZ Navigator for your mobile directions.  I will also be providing a walkthrough in the near future with how to use the service.

The LG Sprint Muziq phone is the perfect phone for the person that is obsessed with music.  The Sprint Muziq phone has a built in mp3 player that allows you to put your music on the phone.

It comes with a 64 MB microSD card which isn’t enough to to really put much music on the phone.  The nice thing about the microSD slot is that it supports up to a 4 GB card which will hold a good amount of your songs.  Another sweet feature about this phone is that it comes with a FM transmitter.  How cool is that?  This allows phone users to listen to national public radio stations, with Sprint Radio, all from their mobile phone.  This phone was built with one purpose in mind and that was to create a phone geared around music.  The front side of the phone features a navigation button similiar to what you would find on an iPod.  This LG Sprint Musiq Phone Musicwill allow you easy access to all your songs which is an excellent feature.

The LG Sprint Muziq phone comes equipped with a 1.3 megapixel camera and stereo Bluetooth headset capabilities.  This mobile phone is SprintTV enabled which allows you to watch live TV right from your handset.  It is also SMS message capable and has a speakerphone.

This phone is an excellent choice for those that can’t do without their music.  Check one out at your local Sprint store to get the full effect of the phone.

Free Games For My Mobile Phone

Posted on September 18, 2007
Filed Under Free Mobile Phone Games | Leave a Comment

The mobile phone game industry has grown extremely fast in the last couple years.  This is due to the increase number of consumers that purchase phones that are capable of playing games as well as a large increase in the number of cell phone users that are interested in playing mobile games on their phone.  In my case I wanted to find free games for my mobile phonethat were interesting, cool, and obviously free.  If you do a quick search for free mobile phone games you will find that there are a lot of websites have to do with his topic.  This can be very frustrating when you are trying to find what you are looking for.  I know I have experienced this on several occasions and it can be very easy to just give up.  There is one site in particular that in my opinion was very easy to use and had a decent selection of games to choose from.  This website is called MobileRated and I feel it is one of the better sites out there.  I know there are other sites that are good as well but this one, to me, kind of stood out.

Searching For Games Compatible With Your Mobile Phone

The first thing that caught my attention with this website was that right away they explained that not all games are compatible with all phones.  They suggest searching through the games that are compatible by selecting your phones makes and model number.  After you do this a list will pop up showing you all the free games they have available for your particular model.  Not all phone models have games available for them but it is evident they are working to make games available for all phone models.  Once you are here and browsing through the games you will find that there is information next to some of the games listed that say things such as (ads),(trial),and (beta).  This explains what type of game is being offered and it tells you up front so you don’t go through the hassle of downloading a game to your phone to find out it was not what you thought it was or what you were looking for.  I found this feature to be very useful and I was glad to see they had implemented it.

Choosing A Game And Downloading It To Your Phone

After you find a game that you are interested in and you click on the link to it you will find a screen that has a bunch of useful information on it about the game you clicked on.  This page tells you a little bit about the game and gives you ratings for things such as gameplay, graphics, sound, features, and fun.  It also tells you a little bit about the java programmer that created the game.  At the bottom of each page are to very important parts of getting your free mobile phone game.  This area shows you the two options available to download the game to your phone.  The first option it gives you is a URL address that you can go to directly through your mobile phone.  If you choose this option you will be able to download the game onto your phone with no other steps involved.  This step however might incur a small fee from your service provider depending on what type of data plan you are using.  Please check with your service provider prior to doing this step.  If you choose to download the game to your computer first they also explain how to do this and have a good write up on transferring the game to your phone after it is on your computer.  I would suggest reading this when your at the point to send it to your phone.

Overall this website is great, it is the site I use for free games for my mobile phone.

If you are looking for some sweet cell phone skins and you have not heard of skinit then you are missing out.  Skinit is a very awesome site not only for cell phone skins but all kinds of devices such as Bluetooth headsets, mp3 players, Laptops, PDA, Digital Cameras, and many more.  The greatest thing about this website is the huge variety of types of skins for all these devices.  They have skins for your favorite sports team professional or collegiate, fashion design skins, flag skins, entertainment skins such as spider man and star wars, and military skins.  My favorite feature that this website offers is the ability for users to submit there own photos and have personalized cell phone skins made for them.  If you have not been to this site before I strongly suggest checking it out.

Refurbished Verizon Cell Phones

Posted on September 10, 2007
Filed Under Verizon Wireless | Leave a Comment

If you have ever had a damaged Verizon cell phone and have taken your phone into a Verizon Wireless store to get a replacement you are probably aware that they will offer you a refurbished phone.  A little over a year ago I had a damaged cell phone and when I took it into the store I was given the option to choose from the refurbished Verizon cell phones.  This was a great option at the time because I really didn’t want to pay full price to purchase a new phone.  When you have a damaged phone and Verizon won’t replace it free of charge you basically have two options.  You can pay the full retail price for any phone in the store or for $50 bucks you can get a refurbished Verizon cell phone.  I chose to go with the second option and pay the $50 bucks.  This was my first experience with a refurbished phone and I was confused when they took the battery and battery cover off of my old phone and put it in my new phone.  I felt this was unfair at the time and asked them why I did not get a new battery.  They quickly stated that this was standard procedure and that all refurbished phones do not come with a battery.  Since this was standard procedure I did not have much choice at this point unless I wanted to pay $300 dollars for a new phone.  If you do have a damaged cell phone and Verizon will not replace it for free, just ask about getting a refurbished mobile phone and save the money you would have spent.  You might need to buy a new battery on eBay if your old one is going bad.  I know mine was shot and eBay had the exact battery for my phone model.

If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you.

Verizon Email Access On Your Mobile Phone With Wireless Sync

Posted on September 10, 2007
Filed Under Verizon Wireless | Leave a Comment

It is possible to get Verizon email access on your mobile phone using wireless sync.  If you are not familiar with what wireless sync is I will explain.  Wireless Sync allows you to receive emails from your regular email accounts on your mobile phone device in real time.  You first have to have a mobile phone that supports the wireless sync capabilities.  You are then able to setup a sync from your computer to your phone using software provided with your phone purchase.  This allows your computer to talk to your phone so when you receive an email in your email account it automatically forwards that email to you cell phone.  It allows you to access your email accounts whether they are personal or business related.  This capability is a neccessity forsome business people as they can’t leave home without an always on email access.  It is also great for personal and allows you to always stay connected to the world of information.  Verizon email access would not be worth it if it was not secure as there is always the possibility of secure information being stolen.  Verizon uses an AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) for the security of emails being sent back and forth over the airwaves.  This prevents unauthorized people from access the wireless email that you send and receive and provides for a very secure and safe enviroment for users.  If you are interested in getting a device that is capable of using the wireless sync to send and receive email you can find a list of compatible devices at VerizonWireless.com.
