Apple’s iPhone To Have Impressive 8 Hours Of Talk Time

Apple announced today that the battery to be included with each new iPhone will have an astounding 8 hours of talk time. This is great news for those waiting anxiously to get there hands on one of theses when they are released for sale on June 29. The previous battery life Apple estimated back in January, when the phone was unveiled to the public, was approximately 5 hours. Here are some stats on the iPhone’s battery life:

It boasts 250 hours of standby time, that is up to ten days without having to charge your phone. In addition the new battery allowas for 6 hours of internet use, 7 hours of video playback, and 24 hour of audio playback. Can you imagine 24 hours of listening to music without plugging in for a fresh charge. That is roughly 4 times the charge of a 30 GB iPod.

They also annouced an upgrade to the phone’s screen from plastic to optical-quality glass. This shall by a very impressive improvement to other smartphones in the market. The iPhone is set to debut with a price of $499 (US) for the 4 GB model and $599 (US) for the 8 GB model. This phone will be provided exclusively by AT&T Wireless.
